Beacon has its own commercial kitchen that is used as our culinary laboratory. Theatre Arts

The Theatre Arts program explores all aspects of theatre including acting; directing; playwriting; stage combat; stage management, improvisation and theatrical design (set, lighting, costume, make-up, sound). The Theatre Department produces two mainstage shows per year as well as various student projects. Beacon Theatre Arts students learn and develop critical skills that will enable them to successfully transition to a theatre program within a post-secondary school as well as pursue a career in the theatre.

Visual Arts

The Visual Arts program includes painting in oil and watercolor; drawing in ink and charcoal; sculpting in clay and other materials; print from woodblock and work with many different materials from papier-mâché to plaster to clay. Using the Masters as a point of reference, Visual Arts students discover their own particular artistic style. Beacon produces at least one off-site gallery exhibit of student work per academic year as well as participate in several visual arts competitions both juried and non-juried. Beacon Visual Arts students develop a portfolio to display their artwork and to assist them when applying for admission to post-secondary art schools.
