ADMISSIONS & LOTTERY INFORMATION
2025 - 2026 School Year
REQUESTS FOR ADMISSION:
Beacon is made up of two public charter schools: Founders Academy and Beacon Charter High School for the Arts. We serve students in grades 6 through 12 from any community in Rhode Island.
In accordance with Rhode Island law and regulations from the Rhode Island Department of Education, admission to Beacon is determined by a lottery. This lottery decides which applicants will be enrolled for the upcoming school year.
Typically, Beacon offers up to 54 openings in grade 6, approximately 10 to 15 in grade 9, and up to 10 combined openings in grades 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12. Applicants who are not selected for an available seat are placed on a waiting list. If a spot becomes available, applicants are contacted in the order they were drawn in the lottery.

Applications are available through the statewide charter application portal, EnrollRI.

All applications for 2025-2026 received after Thursday, March 13th, 2025 at 5pm will be placed on the bottom of the waitlist for that grade.

Lottery Information for 2025-2026 Applicants:
The lottery will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER March 13, 2025 WILL BE PLACED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WAITING LIST AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE LOTTERY. This includes applications for siblings of current Founders or Beacon students, and children of active staff members.
LOTTERY RESULTS: Will be posted here by 9:00am on April 2nd, 2025
